Home & NatureAisha, 8
Nigeria
“Today I drew my village. The baobab tree is very big and old. Grandma says it has been there forever. I want my friend far away to see how beautiful it is.”

Children sharing stories across cultures.
One drawing at a time, one friendship at a time.
World Diary is a social project that connects multicultural children and local children through the intimate act of exchanging handwritten diaries.
Each child receives a blank diary and is invited to fill it with drawings, daily stories, pressed flowers, and anything that makes up their world. The diary is then sent to a child in a different country, who reads it, learns from it, and adds their own chapter.
The most beautiful pages are then transformed into creative goods — enamel keyrings, sticker sets, tote bags, and notebooks — each carrying a real child's story. When you buy a World Diary product, you hold a piece of a real life.

Yuna, 9
South Korea
“We had kimchi jjigae for dinner. I helped Mom cut the tofu. My family always eats together and we laugh a lot. I wonder what my pen pal's family eats.”
Lucas, 7
Brazil
“Carnival is the best day of the year! There was music everywhere and I danced with my cousin. The colors are like a rainbow exploding in the street!”
Mia, 8
Germany
“My school has a big garden. We grow tomatoes and sunflowers. Today we found a ladybug on a leaf. I named her Rosi. I pressed a flower between these pages for you.”
Amara, 10
Ethiopia
“I wake up and see mountains every morning. Mama makes injera on the fire. Our house smells like spices. I drew the sunrise for you — it is orange and gold and perfect.”
Haruto, 8
Japan
“The cherry blossoms fell today like pink snow. Dad and I sat under the tree and ate onigiri. Every spring, I miss it when it is over. I drew it so it lasts forever.”

Children who participate in World Diary develop greater empathy and curiosity about other cultures — not through textbooks, but through the authentic daily life of a real friend far away.
For children who have moved to a new country, seeing their own drawings celebrated and turned into goods gives them a profound sense of visibility, pride, and belonging in their new community.
The diary format empowers children to express themselves freely — through drawings, words, collage, and color — building creative confidence without judgment or grades.
When Yuna received Aisha's diary, she didn't speak the same language. But she understood the baobab tree. She drew one too.
